Built for contact, not just for the photo
A rugby jersey needs a stronger collar, a longer body and a fit that allows strapping and pads. The sleeve is shorter and the shoulder seam sits differently than a soccer kit.
The template keeps the collar, shoulder panels, sleeve trim, hoops and hem as distinct design elements. Change the trim without redrawing the club crest.

Hoops, panels and club identity
Hoops are the classic rugby pattern, but the band width has to survive the seams. A hoop that runs through the shoulder panel will break unless you plan the seam placement first.
If the club already has a pattern, keep it and change only the palette. If you are starting fresh, one strong hoop system plus a contrasting collar reads better than three competing ideas.
League, union and renders
The two codes use different cuts and number conventions. Pick the code first, then set the collar and sleeve length. For the Australian market, NRL and State of Origin kits follow league cuts, with NSW and QLD colorways the most requested. Do not use league or union trademarks unless you have the rights.
